The VaLINtines Day Massacre? That would definitely be an exaggeration, but the Knicks got it done again tonight. Jeremy Lin was once again the story, his improbable run to superstardom continued and the Knicks squeaked out their fifth straight win. Lin scored 27 points to go along with 11 assists to secure the double-double. It should also be noted that Lin’s 8 turnovers put him two shy of a triple-double. He appeared careless with the basketball at times, but he scored 12 points in the fourth quarter including the game winning three to secure the win. Insane.
The hero of this game though was Iman Shumpert. Shumpert might not have hit the game winning shot, but without his key defense down the stretch on Calderon and his 4 steals the Knicks don’t win this game. You cannot tell me that Shumpert isn’t one of the best on the ball defenders in this league right-now.
Stoudemire struggled with his shot early but played decent down the stretch. It was very obvious he was playing with a heavy heart. STAT finished with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
Here’s the game winner one more time:
The Linsanity rolls on…….
